VP Sales & Marketing

Enterprise Software for Energy and Space Management

 

SUMMARY

Provide leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing efforts.  Develop and implement sales and marketing strategy.  Monitor and analyze sales and marketing activity against goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing efforts.
  2. Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.
  3. Work with management to construct a pricing plan for the product core and modules SaaS, Enterprise and OEM installations.
  4. Direct and oversee the company marketing functions to identify and develop new customers for products and services.
  5. Maintain sales pipeline.
  6. Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.
  7. Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.
  8. Plan and coordinate communications efforts, to include white papers, blog entries and trade specific articles.
  9. Development of new project proposals.
  10. Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  11. Planning and development of company marketing and communications materials.
  12. Represent the company at various business meetings to promote the company.
  13. Preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.
  14. Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  15. Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  16. Work with corporate staff to develop five year business plan for the company.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate sales department staff.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Knowledge of building systems and energy metrics.
  2. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  3. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  4. Experience in planning marketing strategies and advertising campaigns.
  5. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  6. 5-10 years experience in professional sales.
  7. Software sales background preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Chicago area office environment, will consider remote office environment.
  2. Work will include some travel.
  3. If remote office it would be expected that one week every month be in the corporate office.
  4. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
